We’ll continue in the our Keeping Scrapbooking Simple Series. We’ll be using the Creative Memories 52 Scrapbooking Project Recipe Book. I’ve selected several layouts that I consider “simple” — meaning easy paper cuts, straightforward photo placement, and just a few fun embellishments to finish it off, but there is always a “special technique”!

This week, I’ll be working with Recipe #36 on page 76 of the book, and I’ll show you how to use the project recipe to recreate a beautiful double-page layout! Don’t miss it!

Fresh Take on a Classic Layout with the New Springtime Soirée Collection!

One of my favorite things about scrapbooking is revisiting a tried-and-true layout and breathing new life into it with fresh papers and techniques. This layout originally made its debut using the vibrant Party Time Collection, and later, I featured it again with the charming School Dayz Collection. Both collections brought their own unique flair and energy to the page.

But now, I’m beyond excited to reimagine this layout once more—this time with the brand-new Springtime Soirée Collection! The pastel tones and light, breezy patterns of this collection are perfect for the season and will add a whimsical, fresh feel to the design.

What makes this layout extra fun is a technique that we don’t often see but always love when we do! We’ll be punching across the tops of two different colors of cardstock and then cutting them into photo mats. It’s such a simple yet clever detail that adds a ton of visual interest to your pages.

I’ll be sticking closely to the original design, but of course, giving it a fresh twist by swapping out the papers and changing up the punch. Speaking of punches, I’m bringing in one of my all-time favorites—the Pyramid Keyhole Border Maker Cartridge. It creates such a dynamic and eye-catching edge that will pair beautifully with the Springtime Soirée patterns.
